HIV/AIDS infections increase dramatically in Bali Radar Bali puts the current number of people suffering from HIV/AIDS in Bali at around 7,000 people, a 75% increase from the 4,000 victims counted just four years before in 2006. The official count is put at 3,659 people according to confirmed cases recorded since 1987. The actual number of cases, now put at 7,000, reflects the "hidden" number of sufferers believed to be living in Bali. In 2010, a total of 421 new HIV/AIDS cases were recorded in Bali with 54 deaths attributed to the disease.

Dozens of prostitutes arrested in Pangandaran As much as 23 prostitutes have been netted in a police raid in the area of Pangandaran in the district of Ciamis in West Java province early this morning. Police also reported some chasing around as some of the sexworkers did not want to just sit down and be arrested. Exotic dancers to be prosecuted in Bandung Authorities in the city of Bandung will prosecute four exotic dancers arrested at clubs on New Year's Eve for allegedly violating a new anti-pornography law, a police spokesman said Wednesday. The female dancers and two male club managers were detained in Bandung, in West Java province, a few days ago.

"The campaign promoting condoms does not explicitly say that sexual relations - and thus condoms - are only allowed within marriage. Men join in the fight against polygamy Indonesian pro-polygamy groups are not only facing protest from angry housewives and women's rights activists; a new group of men calling themselves the Men’s Coalition against Polygamy (Kolmi) has also joined the struggle. Kolmi spokesman Abdul Hamim Fauzie said via a statement in the capital Jakarta on Sunday that the coalition considered the practice of polygamous marriage degrading, not only to women, but to men as well.

72 TKW evacuated from Kuwait The Agency for the Protection of Indonesians, the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Indonesian embassy in Kuwait have brought home 72 so-called TKW ('female Indonesian workers abroad') that requested help from the embassy. All 72 TKW arrived with a Singapore Airlines flight. They are part of a group of 646 TKW which are currently in shelter in the Indonesian embassy in Kuwait.

Cleric cleared of sex abuse over child bride An Indonesian court has acquitted controversial Muslim cleric Pujiono Cahyo Widianto over child sexual molestation charges for marrying an underage girl, aged 12 last year. Widianto risked up to 15 years in jail, had he been convicted of the charges. Prosecutors said they would appeal the court ruling. The girl is his second wife.

The ones now in place just tell people how to dress and obliges Muslems to pray, but the laws now accepted include a prison term of eight years for just being gay and being stoned to death if you decided to have sex with someone else then your spouse.

At two different locations Satpol PP, the civil police, came into action. The first couple was caught in Hotel Uli Arta and two others in Hotel Genggong in the city. Two foreigners wanted as pedophiles extradited from Bali After sitting behind bars at Bali's Kerobokan prison for nearly eight months, a man on Interpol's Most Wanted List, 46 year-old Christian Burger, is now in France to face child sexual abuse charges. Burger, who has both French and Swiss citizenship, was placed on a plane to Paris on Wednesday, August 5, 2009, following the issuance of a letter agreeing to his extradition signed by Indonesia's President Yudhoyono. He has issued the needed letter last Monday, as was confirmed by Public Prosecutor I Ketut Sujaya, SH.

Malaysian prince demands more money from Manohara The Syariah High Court yesterday allowed Tengku Temenggong of Kelantan Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Sultan Ismail Petra - or just 'the prince' - to amend his debt claim from his wife, Cik Puan Temenggong Manohara Odelia Pinot - or just Manohara - from RM972,750 to RM1,112,250. Judge Mohd Yusof Awang set October 5 for a re-mention of the case and gave Manohara 14 days before the date to file for her defence.
