List of most influential Muslems: Congratulations Indonesia! Congratulations! Indonesia did not win again. They did not loose either, but are just playing a small role in this case. Most likely that is the best solution as well. Huh? What? Not winning is still okay? For sure, since it is all about the small representation of Indonesians in the list of 500 most prominent Muslems in the world.

Ms. Fadilah should thank Bobie for bringing Mexican flu A planeload full of Australian tourists heading for Bali may have been infected with Mexican Flu - or Swine Flu as the Indonesians still like to call it, showing that pigs are indeed bad. Garuda Indonesia flight 719 on June 19, 2009 was the flight that Bobie Masoner took. She is now on the isolation ward of the Sanglah hospital on Bali because she had contracted Mexican Flu earlier on, but only fell ill on Bali.

When life is made impossible Together we are sitting below a blue plastic cover that is used as roof for a bed and some personal possessions. That is all that Kudasi has left. Together we look back at the earthquake that struck some one and a half year ago first. It caused the death of several thousand people and tens of thousands ended up in the same situation as he is in now. He was lucky then, in Parangtritis, a village at the southern beach directly south of the city of Yogyakarta, damage was limited. Now however he became one of the victims, but not from an earthquake. It were the 'new colonials' as he describes it. It is a commonly used term to represent a government that is pushing it's own ideas forward not listening to the people they ought to represent.

Fauzi Bowo new governor of Jakarta Fauzi Bowo and Prijanto have become the first directly elected governor and vice-governor of the capital of Indonesia. After a day of voting, the vice-president of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla, sent his congratulations to the couple. Although there are no official results yet, quick counts by various independent parties all show a victory for Fauzi Bowo and Prijanto, with around 58 percent of the votes.

Hamengku Buwono X quits race as rival cleared of corruption A decision by Indonesia's top court to quash the corruption conviction of Akbar Tandjung, the House speaker, has had an immediate political impact with a popular candidate for the presidential nomination of his Golkar party pulling out in protest. Indonesia's Supreme Court on Thursday threw out a three-year sentence against Mr Tandjung for misappropriating Rp40bn ($4.8m, 3.7m, 2.5m) in state funds in adecision labelled by local activists as an embarrassment for the country's judiciary and Jakarta's supposed fight against corruption.
