Islamists: two dead and counting The evacuation of the grave of Habib Hasan bin Muhammad al Haddad alias Mbah Priok, in Koja, North Jakarta, has ended in a big brawl between members of the civil police Satpol PP and members of the radical Islamic FPI (Front Pembela Islam) and FBR (Forum Betawi Rembug). The grave has to be demolished in favour of a new seaport terminal, but the Islamists have other plans obviously.

Dozens arrested in Stadium Club after brawl The local police of West Jakarta has arrested 25 people after a brawl in the Stadium Club discotheque in Taman Sari, North Jakarta. All people were searched and a number of weapons like big knives, wooden sticks and bamboo were seized from those arrested. A spokesperson of the police told that they have checked up on 42 people in total. 18 of them were released almost immediately because a lack of evidence that they were involved in the brawl.

Need money? Ask the army to help you out! The Indonesian army is known for it's.. well, known for it's what actually? Every once in a while they are in the news because of a brawl with members of the police force (until a few years back they were still one, but now they have to split their income with them) and furthermore helicopters and planes regularly crash across Indonesia.

Soldiers, police clash in South Sulawesi A soldier and a policeman were wounded on Thursday in shoot-outs between troops and police in the town of Palopo, Luwu regency, South Sulawesi, officials and residents said. The clash erupted briefly near the Luwu Police station at around 9:30 a.m., and ended after Army commanders arrived at the scene. However, officials could not say who had started firing first, as the investigation was still underway.

Two die, 15 injured in a police-army battle in Madiun Two civilians were killed and 15 others were injured during a fierce clash between members of Infantry Battalion 501 of the Army Strategic Reserves Command (Kostrad) and police officers in Madiun, East Java, on Saturday night. Acting spokesperson for the East Java Police, Comr. Penny Handayani, confirmed the clash on Sunday, adding that five police stations, two buildings, including the police hospital in Madiun, and several vehicles were also destroyed.

Nine people killed in Luwu riot Nine people were killed, dozens of others were injured and 40 houses were set ablaze early on Wednesday in a rampage involving residents of two hamlets near the village of Padang Sappa, Bupon district, Luwu regency, some 430 kilometers north of here. A police officer said that one of the victims was a boy of under ten years old. "He was hacked to death," the officer at the Luwu Police precinct said.
