Fly to Hong Kong, Kuching and Riyadh! Ticket website ticketindonesia.info has added three new destinations on ticketindonesia.info. You can now fly from and to Hong Kong from Jakarta with Lion Air and AirAsia, and AirAsia also flies from Medan to Hong Kong. Kuching (Malaysia) has a direct flight to Pontianak and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) can be reached from Jakarta by Batavia Air.

Valentine's Day, February 14, is a day like any other according tot he Council of Islamic Scholars in Indonesia, MUI. Earlier this week the same group of no-brainers announced that Valentine's Day would be entirely haram because it was not in line with Islam.

Malang Airport closed because of ash from Bromo volcano The directorate of Transport in Indonesia has ordered the immediate closure of the airport of Malang, Abdurahman Saleh. This is done because of the increasing amount of ash in the air - originating from the Mount Bromo volcano. The volcano, that has been erupting for several days now, is ejecting more ash into the skies. The airport is located about 25 kilometers from the crater of the volcano.

Towards the danger? About one and a half year ago I moved out from Yogyakarta, where I stayed for three years. Those three years started two months after the destructive earthquake which was directly followed by a small eruption of the Mount Merapi volcano directly north of where I lived then - Jakal KM 5, as it is locally known best.

"The 1960s Law on Securing Printed Materials whose content could disrupt public order is against the Constitution. The law is no longer legally binding," said Mahfud MD, the head of the court.

Burger King to stop buying oil from Sinar Mas Environmentalists on Saturday praised Burger King's decision to stop buying palm oil from an Indonesian company accused of destroying rainforests. Truck crashes into Garuda plane on Schiphol airport A plane belonging to Garuda Indonesia was hit by a truck when it was about to depart from Schiphol airport in the Netherlands. Because of the accident, the plane had to be evacuated which caused long delays for the 125 passengers on board. 70 other passengers who were waiting in Dubai, to be picked up at a stop-over, were also delayed.

Train tickets mostly sold out ahead of Idul Fitri Idul Fitri is still one month to go, but train tickets for trips from Jakarta to popular destinations in Central Java, Yogyakarta and East Java within a week ahead of the Islamic holiday have been sold out. Head of Senen railway station Taviv Saryono said on Wednesday there were no more tickets left for business and executive classes for departure between Sept. 3 and Sept. 9.

Just several weeks ago the Indonesian Minister of Communication, reli-nut Tifatul Sembiring of the radical Islamic Party for Prosperous Justice PKS, threatened to block half the internet. This was to protect Islamic values during the holy month of fasting, Ramadan. And was most likely to be maintained afterward as well, because it was already implemented anyway.

Garuda will spread its wings over Europe Garuda is preparing to once again become an international airline after a hiatus in which the national flag carrier shrunk to regional airline status. Buoyant with the resumption of service to Europe with its Amsterdam flight in June 2010, the technical and maintenance director of the airline told that service will be extended to include Italy, London, Paris and Frankfurt.
