Seven dead as Jakarta floods continue Heavy rainfall and flooding have left at least seven dead this week in Indonesia’s capital, according to city officials. The causes include sickness, drowning after slipping and getting electrocuted, according to Surya Putra, Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) information chief on Saturday.

Police crack down on under-age motorists Jakarta police conducted a sweep operation in the national capital on Tuesday to identify and take action against under-age motorists. The head of the East Jakarta traffic police unit, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Supoyo, stated that the police had seized 35 motorcycles so far, which were being used by school students who were underage and did not have a license.

15 billion Rupiah stolen from money transport A car transporting some 15 billion Rupiah (1.1 million euro) that belonged to PT Cisco, was robbed when it stopped for a reload of an ATM in the Tambora area in West Jakarta. The police is currently investigating the case and could not say anything else related to the robbery.
