Northern main road Java blocked by floodwaters The northern coastal road from Jakarta to Surabaya, popularly known as Pantura, has been completely blocked by floodwaters in Pamanukan in the district of Subang. Kostrad ready to protect border with Malaysia The Army Strategic Reserves Command (Kostrad) is out to protect the border shared by Indonesia and Malaysia in Kalimantan for the sake of territorial integrity. Back to Yogya: twelve hours by bus How to get to Yogyakarta? Of course the plane is a good solution from Jakarta, but we didn't want to. My plan was to catch the bus in the morning, so we would arrive in Yogya in the evening, but as we found out there were no morning buses departing for Yogya from Cikarang, so we just took the bus departing in the evening, because we wanted to go to Yogya anyway.

A 15-year-old boy from Subang, in West Java, died on Wednesday in an area where chickens had died, said Nyoman Kandun, director general of communicable disease control at the ministry.

Java's roads packed with holiday travelers Driyanto, a 42-year-old man from Jakarta, left the capital at 4 a.m. on Friday for Banyumas municipality in Central Java. He arrived in Cirebon, West Java, 12 hours later. The trip normally takes about four hours. "I arrived here at around 4 p.m., meaning it took 12 hours from Jakarta," Driyanto told The Jakarta Post while taking a travel break in Cirebon.

All except one passenger aboard the minibus died when it collided with the truck at daybreak, said Nurkaya, a police officer in Subang, about 250kms east of Jakarta. He was quoted by the Detikcom online news agency.
