Indonesia media conspires against Yudhoyono Demonstrators that demand the resignation of president Yudhoyono and vice-president Boediono took to the streets yesterday as well. Demonstrations occurred in cities across Indonesia, but the biggest demonstration was held in Makassar, South Sulawesi. If the biggest demonstration was there and not in Jakarta, it is a sign that it wasn't all that important after all.

New Metro departement store collapsed in Jakarta A number of people is trapped after a building belonging to Metro department store partially collapsed in Tanah Abang in Jakarta. The new building was built only three months ago. Hundreds of people are currently looking for people trapped under the rubble of the building. The place was crowded with people looking for last-minute Christmas sales when it collapsed.

Bali's rabies crisis spreads to new areas Radar Bali confirms that Bali's rabies epidemic has now spread to five of the island's nine regencies and metropolitan areas. According to Ida Bagus Alit, the Head of Bali's Animal Husbandry Department (Dinas Peternakan) confirmed that Karangasem and Bangli now have confirmed cases of the deadly disease in their dog populations, while previously cases of rabies were confined to Denpasar, Badung and Tabanan.

Busway in Bandung launched today Bandung is the next city to get some form of new public transport in the form of Trans Metro Bandung (TMB) rapid mass transport. After a long period of protests by other bus operators the new system will be put in use today. The head of the TMB operating company, Yadi Haryani, told that the mayor of Bandung already issued a decree on the official launch.

Mud leak appear in Sukahening village Just a few days after the heavy earthquake of September 2, 2009, the village of Sukahening in the district of Tasikmalaya has become the scene of a new natural event, a mud leak. Based on observations by television station Metro TV, the mud is pushed out of the earth in a hole with a diameter of up to two meters. The village of Sukahening is some 25 kilometers away from the city of Tasikmalaya.

Falling wheels new chapter in Indonesian air safety Where it used to be falling planes that scared Indonesians, Indonesian skies are much safer these days. Yesterday afternoon a plane belonging to Merpati Nusantara with flight number MZ 761 on the route Jayapura - Biak - Makassar - Jakarta only lost one tire when departing from Biak Airport in the province of Papua. One of the left wheels of the plane which was flown by pilot Haryogi and co-pilot Eko Laksono, fell off shortly after taking of for Makassar.

Every once in a while they are in the news because of a brawl with members of the police force (until a few years back they were still one, but now they have to split their income with them) and furthermore helicopters and planes regularly crash across Indonesia.

Mount Rinjani on Lombok island volcano erupts Mount Barujari, the most recent volcanic cone of the Mount Rinjani volcano on the island of Lombok in the Lesser Sunda Islands is once again erupting. The volcano erupted for the first time last Wednesday. The eruption of the almost 4.000 meter high volcano does not cause tremors. Local residents are not worried about the current eruption of the volcano.

Petrol bomb attacks in Maluku province Three separate explosions have caused minor damage in the city of Ternate in Indonesia's Moluccas islands, northeast of Java, local television has reported. It is understood three small petrol bombs were used in the attacks early Monday morning. Metrotvnews.com said one of the bombs caused slight damage to the home office of the governor of North Maluku.

Small mud leak scares North Jakarta residents Residents of Kamalmuara, North Jakarta, were scared by the discovery of a small mud leak in the Tanjungan stream. The small mud leak is currently slowly increasing in size. According to information from Metro TV, the mud leak currently is some 20 centimeters high and 60 centimeters in diameter.
