JAKARTA - Tubagus Chaeri Wardana, alias Wawan, a suspect in corruption and money laundering cases, was declared healthy and sent back to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detention house on Monday, according to KPK spokesman Johan Budi.
"The doctors who treated Wawan at the Kramatjati Police Hospital declared that he had recovered from dengue fever, and therefore, we shifted him out of the hospital and moved him to the detention house," Johan stated.
Banten Governor Ratu Atut Chosiyahs brother, Wawan, who has been charged with corruption and money laundering, was admitted to the Kramat Jati hospital on February 24, 2014, for dengue fever.
According to the KPK, Wawan had gifted cars to several film stars and members of the regional legislative assembly. The KPK has already conducted investigations on two other artists, Rebecca Reijman and Jennifer Dunn, in the relation to the same case.
The KPK has confiscated all the cars. In total, the KPK has confiscated 42 cars, including those seized from Wawans house or companies. The confiscated cars were luxury cars such as Ferrari, Lamborghini Aventador, Bentley Continental, Rolls Royce Flying Spur, Nissan GTR, Toyota Vellfire, Mitsubishi Pajero, Honda CR-V, Mercedes Benz, Mini Cooper and Toyota Land Cruiser.
Also Toyota Lexus, Toyota Innova, BMW, Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Outlander, Ford Fiesta, Nissan Terano, Honda Freed, Isuzu Panther, Toyota Avanza, Suzuki APV, and Isuzu Panther. The KPK officials also confiscated a Harley Davidson motorbike.
The KPK spokesman Johan Budi noted that the commission continues to track down allegedly ill-gained assets of Wawan. Wawan has been charged with bribery in the Lebak district election, mark up in the price of health equipment for the health center in Tangerang Selatan, and corruption in the procurement of health equipment for the Banten province.
