JAKARTA - RI`s Ministry of Communication and Informatics has accredited 2,300 journalists around the world to cover APEC Summit 2013 in Bali, from October 1 to 8.
"Up to now (Friday, Sept 6), there is a total of 2,300 journalists that had accredited to cover the APEC Summit since the press registration opened in early August," the Ministry of Communication and Informatics` Head of Information and Public Relation, Gatot S Dewabroto, said to the press following the APEC Summit 2013 Press Briefing here on Friday.
Dewabroto noted that the committee accept 180 to 200 registration per day with mostly coming from US, Japan, China, and Russia, besides from Indonesian media. "We predict it would be increased until the registration closing date on September 10," he said.
According to Dewabroto, approximately about five thousands people from the 21 APEC economies delegations and journalists to arrive in Bali on next October.
Thus far, the progress of the event preparation has achieved 75 percent and Dewabroto hoped in mid September, all stuffs could be done, including security, accommodation and media facilities.
"We establish an inter-related team between the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, APEC Committee, and Bali local government to organize this event," he said.
On October 8, 2013, the 21 leaders of APEC Economies were scheduled to meet and expected to achieve some agreement or declaration towards the Asia-Pacific economic development.
A day before, on October 7, the CEO Summit will be held as the meeting forum for global companies` CEO and the APEC Leaders hosted by APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC).
Indonesia as the chairman of APEC 2013 has been promoting the financial inclusion, resilient and sustainable economic growth, and strengthens regional cooperation in other sectors.
