JAKARTA - Four police officers sustained stab wounds after a group of irresponsible military men attacked a police station in South Sumatra`s Ogan Komering Ulu district on Thursday morning, a police spokesman said.
One of the police officers is now in critical condition, the head of the Indonesian Police Headquarters` public relations division Insp. Gen. Suhardi Alius said here on Thursday.
A group of 95-100 military men from South Sumatra had originally planned to stage a peaceful protest at the police station. But the protest later turned into chaos, with some of them setting fire to it.
"They did that without the knowledge of their battalion commander and the situation there has been brought under control," he said.
