JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will again summon Inspector General Djoko Susilo for questioning after the person concerned turned down its summons on Friday, KPK spokesman Johan Budi said. "KPK will summon DS again, perhaps next week," he said at KPK Building here on Friday.
Djoko was supposed to be grilled by KPK on Friday but he did not come and through his lawyers sent a letter demanding confirmation regarding the rightful institution to question him and the legitimacy of the raid by KPK of the Traffic Police Corps headquarters in July.
DS`s lawyers namely Hotma Sitompul, Juniver Girsang and Tommy Sihotang said their client would also seek a ruling from the Supreme Court regarding the rightful institution to handle their client`s case.
"The investigators have received a letter from DS containing the two reasons and it is still being studied. Regarding the Supreme Court ruling it is the right of the person concerned but the case would be continued by the KPK," Johan said.
So, Johan said, investigation of the case with Djoko Susilo as a suspect would be continued according to the law and would not be hindered by the demand of the former chief of the Traffic Police Corps.
"In line with the law the suspect could be summoned by force but it would all depend upon how the suspect responds the second summon," he said. If DS did not meet the second summon upon reasons which are against the law KPK could send a third summon carrying a warrant.
On July 27 KPK named Djoko Susuilo suspect in alleged corruption case linked to the procurement of driving simulators along with Brigadier Geenral Didik Purnomo, the suspended deputy chief of the Traffic Police Corps, Budi Susanto, the president director of PT Citra Mandiri Metalindo Abadi who won the tender for the project and Sukotjo S Bambang, the director of PT Inovasi Teknologi Indonesia, the sub-contractor of PT Citra Mandiri.
Meanwhile on August 1, the Crime Investigation Department also named Didik, Budi and Sukotjo as suspects in the same case as well as Adjunct Senior Commissioner Teddy Rusmawan and Commissioner Legimo. KPK has already questioned a number of witnesses in connection with the alleged corruption case worth Rp196.8 billion.
