BANTUL - An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale rocked the regency of Bantul of Yogyakarta on Wednesday but no casualty and damage to property reported.
The quake hit at 17.59 local time with epicenter in the Indian Ocean 29 kilometer deep around 424 kilometers southwest of Bantul, the Natural Disaster Rehabilitation Agency said.
The agency head Dwi Daryanti said the epicenter is quite far from Bantul that no significant damage caused by the quake. Dwi quoted the meteorology office as saying the quake has no potential to trigger tsunami.
