LIPPO CIKARANG - The fast-growing Indonesian airliner Lion Air has expanded it's schedules once more this month. A number of flights were added on existing routes between popular destinations and a new route between Surabaya and Singapore was opened. This route is targeted at the large business community in both cities.
Starting December 16, Lion Air has started daily flights Surabaya - Singapore - Surabaya. Departure from Surabaya is 08:00 local time with arrival at 11:20 local time. Departure from Singapore is at 12:10 local time with arrival in Surabaya at 13:30 local time. Ticket prices start at about 45 euro one way.
A number of flights have been added to already existing routes, making some transit flights faster for a number of destinations now. Per December 16 extra flights have been added on the Surabaya - Banjarmasin - Surabaya and Surabaya - Jakarta - Surabaya routes.
Starting from December 19 a second daily flight by Lion Air on the Jakarta - Kuala Lumpur - Jakarta route has become reality. Departure from Jakarta at 11:40 local time, arrival in Kuala Lumpur at 14:40. The return flight departs at 15:30 local time and arrives at 16:35 local time in Jakarta. This second flight is direct competition for Air Asia. Lion Air is offering lower prices inclusive of 20 kilograms of luggage.
Starting from December 20, a nightly flight from Jakarta to Manado (departure 01:45, arrival 06:05) and a morning flight from Manado back to Jakarta (departure 08:00, arrival 10:15 local time) has been added to the flight schedule. This early flight will create better connecting flights to the easternmost regions of Indonesia.
