MANADO - The Mount Lokon volcano in North Sulawesi province has erupted again this morning at 07:58 local time (00:58 GMT). The volcano now emitted an amount of ash into the sky with heights up to 200 meters. This eruption is seen as a small one.
According to Farid Ruskanda Bina, head of the observation post for the Mount Lokon volcano in the city of Tomohon, an increasing amount of tremors was recorded shortly before the eruption started. After the eruption, these tremors continued, which is a sign that the volcano has not calmed down entirely yet.
After the eruption a small cloud of smoke topped the Tompaluan crater on the Mount Lokon volcano. The tremors that are measured now are decreasing in intensity. Earlier they measured up to 25 millimeter in amplidute, where they are now between 0.5 and 20 millimeters.
