Indonesia announces $22 billion in infrastructure projects JAKARTA - The government of Indonesia on Friday announced 17 new infrastructure projects worth Rp.190 trillion ($22.23 billion).

The projects are part of Indonesia's 2011-2025 Indonesia Economic Development Expansion and Acceleration Master Plan, coordinating minister for economic affairs Hatta Rajasa told Antara news agency, adding that the projects would be funded by state-owned companies, national private companies, foreign direct investment and national budget.

They are planned to be carried out in four main locations: Sei Mangke in the province of North Sumatra, Cilegon in Banten, Lombok Timur, East Nusa Tenggara and Timika, Papua.

Hatta underlined the importance of gathering a solid team to monitor the projects in order to prioritize transparency and accountability, adding that the projects would accelerate sustainable and equal economic development across the country.
