BEKASI - Violent acts against religious freedom in Indonesia happened again on Sunday when two reverends of Huria Kristen Batak Protestant (HKBP) church in Ciketing, Bekasi, West Java, were mobbed and stabbed. The information was confirmed by an officer of the Bekasi Police, identified as Daimun.
"Correct the information is like that. The attack took place at 9 a.m. Now our officers are at the incident site to investigate the case," Daimun said. Daimun explained that the incident happened at HKBP church in Ciketing, Mustika Jaya housing complex. "The place is the same as the one when religious ritual was abruptly stopped by a group of people from a certain hardline organization," he said.
Leonard Nababan, another reverend of the church, said that the victim of the stabbing incident was identified as Rev. ST Sihombing. According to Nababan was on the way on foot to the church to lead a religious ritual at 8:30 a.m., when suddenly he was stabbed by attackers on a motorcycle. The perpetrators ran away after the incident, Nababan said.
The first information about the violence act appeared on Twitter network. It was reported that Rev. Luspida Simandjuntak was beaten up, while Rev. SIhombing was stabbed before leading a religious ritual. One of the attacked reverends was rushed to Mitra Keluarga Hospital in Bekasi as he was in critical condition.
