BANDA ACEH - The province of Aceh has been shaken by a moderate earthquake twice yesterday. The first quake took place in the early morning while the second one took place somewhere in the afternoon. The first quake had a magnitude of 5.3 on the Richter Scale while the second one was measured at 5.1. The earthquakes were not related to each other.
The Climatological, Meteorological and Geophysical Agency BMKG announced that the most recent quake took place at a depth of 90 kilometers. No tsunami alarm was issued for these earthquakes, they were too small to create one.
