JAKARTA - Some 153 so-called TKI (Indonesian overseas workers) were deported from Malaysia because of various problems. The TKI were sent to the harbor of Tanjungpinang in the Riau Islands province from Malaysya. The TKI were all arrested earlier because they did not have the proper documents to work in Malaysia.
In total, 91 men, 59 women and three children were expelled from the country. They were transported back to Indonesia by a Batam Line ferry from Pasir Gudang in Joho. They arrived in Indonesia around eight in the evening yesterday. Most of them came from Java and Sumatra and will probably head home soon.
