MANOKWARI - A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 on the Richter Scale has hit northwest of the town of Manokwari in Indonesia's easternmost province of Papua. There were no immediate reports of injuries of damage, but since the earthquake hit a scarcely populated area, everything might just turn out to be fine.
The earthquake was located at 78 kilometers northwest of the town of Manokwari in Papua province and had place at 02:18 local time. According to information of the Climatological, Geophysical and Meteorological Agency BMKG, the earthquake had place at a depth of some 26 kilometers.
