JAKARTA - Just over 400 illegal TKI (Indonesian Overseas Workers) have been sent back from Malaysia because they lacked the proper documents. They were sent to Tanjung Priok in North Jakarta. All of the 407 deported Indonesians didn't have a passport. Some of the illegal overseas workers now say that they have been abused by the Malaysian police.
The workers were brought to Tanjung Priok from Tanjungpinang in the Riau Islands province by boat after they were kicked out of Malaysia a short while ago. The Indonesian Department of Social Affairs checked the deported workers before they were put on buses to be able to go home to their families in various parts of the country. The illegal workers came from Central Java, East Java, Sumatra and Ambon.
