JAKARTA - Dutchman Ang Kiem Soei, who is convicted to death in Indonesia for running an ecstasy factory, is most likely to be executed next month. He also was a part of an international organization of drug traders. Soei has been in prison for over seven years now and his legal options have run out.
Last year his lawyer tried to ask for help with the Dutch government. They decided that they would pay for all legal fees in a rare exception because Soei doesn't have any money left. The Dutch ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that they are not aware of any upcoming execution. They say that the verdict still has to be reviewed by a judge.
