JAKARTA - Some 200 preman ('street thugs') who normally keep themselves busy with disturbing residents in the areas of Penjaringan, Cilincing, Koja and Pademangan in North Jakarta were picked up during police raids on Thursday. 172 people were processed to be fined after their fingerprints and mug-shots were taken.
28 other thugs were arrested for vandalism, illegal gambling and extortion. "We were preparing these raids for a week now," said Adex Yudiswan, a spokesperson for the North Jakarta police. Adex said that these thugs were already irritating local residents for quite some time now. During the raids, police confiscated three sharp weapons, gambling material and liquor.
Again they get the wrong ones. Hey Keystone Kops, I'll make it easy for ya! It is the first large building on the left when you pass the Sultan Hotel on the way to the airport.
Got that
