JAKARTA - A rented house along Jalan Semanggi II, in the Ciputat area of Tangerang, has been raided by the anti-terrorism unit of the Indonesian police. Over a dozen members of Densus 88 raided the house when a gunfight erupted. After the raid, the police has closed off the area while residents had to keep some distance.
The word goes that two of the killed terrorists are the fugitive Syaifudin Zuhri and Mohamad Syahrir. THe police said there will be a press conference later this afternoon. In a now famous gesture, the national head of the police, Bambang Hendarso Danuri, lifted his two thumbs when he met the press a short while ago. "If Allah helps us," he said.
The raid was started around 11:30 local time and only lasted a short moment in comparison to earlier raids and sieges of Densus 88 which sometimes lasted more than half a day.
