JAKARTA - A strong undersea earthquake struck off the western coast of Indonesia's Sumatra island late Wednesday afternoon, but there were no immediate reports of injury and damage, seismologists said. The quake, measuring at 7.6 on the Richter scaled, struck at 5:16 pm (1016 GMT) at a depth of 71 kilometers, about 57 kilometers south-west of Pariaman on West Sumatra province, Indonesia's National Meteorological and Geophysics Agency (BMG) said.

I actually felt the quake in Malaysia (I was still in my office in Cyberjaya) - the time was about 6.17pm on Wednesday.
I was concentrating on work when suddenly I felt my chair quiver and shake slightly from side to side. I initially thought I was having a headache as it felt like that...! My colleagues jumped up too, puzzled. However we decided to carry on with our work and didn't frantically leave the building or anything. But we highly suspected Indonesia was literally giving off quake vibes.
