JAKARTA - Starting tomorrow, higher tariffs of toll roads will become effective. The first increase in two years - according to laws that allow price increases once every two years to correct for inflation and increased operational costs - will be some 30 percent. A price hike was planned for earlier this month, but because of the Ramadan month of fasting and the following busy travel period, the increase was delayed.
The stretches of roll road which will see their prices increased are Jakarta-Bogor-Ciawi, Jakarta-Tangerang, Jakarta inner city toll road (Cawang-Tomang-Grogol-Pluit (Jasa Marga), Cawang-Tanjung Priok-Ancol Timur-Jembatan Tiga/Pluit (CMNP)), Surabaya-Gempol (Waru-Sidoarjo), Padalarang-Cileunyi, Belawan-Medan-Tj Morawa, Pondok Aren-Ulujami, Palimanan-Kanci, Semarang Seksi A,B,C, Cikampek-Purwakarta-Padalarang, Serpong-Pondok Aren, Tangerang-Merak, Ujung Pandang Tahap I and II, the Jakarta Outer Ring Road JORR) and Tangerang - Merak
The 'airport toll road' from the city of Jakarta to the international airport of Soekarno-Hatta, also known as the Prof. Dr. Ir. Sedyatmo toll road, will maintain at the current pricing. Some construction work on the toll road is not finished yet. The operator also wants to implement a different transaction system on the toll road. Prices on this toll road will increase somewhere in 2010.
