PELABUHANRATU - Three tourists have most likely been killed when they were dragged away by waves on the Pelabuhanratu beach in the Sukabumi regency earlier today. Until now, the three missing people have not been found. The three are said to be from Bogor in West Java. The incident happened around 08:00 local time this morning at two different places on the beach.
A spokesperson of the search and rescue team in Sukabumi, Ucok, said that it all happened very vast. They were dragged into the sea when they were swimming in the sea. Some high waves struck the beach at that time. "It is likely that we can not rescue the three missing people, because we did not have any indication on where they are since they went missing," said Ucok.
He also said that the search for the bodies was coordinated with the marine police of West Java. "We are currently sweeping the waters near the place where the three went missing in the hope that we will find something. We started near the beach and will go out to sea further if needed," he said.
