LIPPO CIKARANG - I was shopping earlier today and when queuing up the cashier - it was crowded because it is still Idul Fitri - I noticed a small pack of fireworks. Attracted to everything that burns, I grabbed it to take a closer look. I did not have the intention to buy it, since I am supposed to be an adult now, not playing with fireworks like I did when I was ten.
A packaging that says 'Made in Chian' - yes Chian, not China - doesn't promise much if you asked me, but because of this stupid error I decided to buy one of them, just to see what the result is. I can imagine that this never reaches markets in Europe or the United States, since regulation is tougher there. Not only regulation on fireworks, also regulation about plastic wrapping, use of inks and all things China likes to fuck up badly.
When I opened the package I shortly asked myself how to actually light it, as there was no fuse. I assumed that I just had to heat up the top of the small candle until it caught fire. I guess that is how you should light it, because there is no instruction on it other than "LIGHT FUSE AND GET AWAY", the last part probably being the most important.
Products that can not be sold to European countries still have to go somewhere, since they are still produced. They end up in third world countries where regulation against crappy products is not in place yet. Oh... you should not watch the video, it doesn't really show anything.
