LIPPO CIKARANG - An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 on the Richter Scale occurred in the waters of northern Maluku province earlier this morning. The quake took place at 03:34 local time (GMT+9) and was located at 117 kilometers northwest of the city of Ternate in North Maluku.
Based on information from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency BMKG the earthquake took place at a depth of 91 kilometers and did not have the power to produce a tsunami. There were no reports of damage or injuries caused by the earthquake.
