LIPPO CIKARANG - A number of roads used to transport millions of people for the upcoming Idul Fitri holidays has come to a halt over a distance of 25 kilometers. Based on information gathered from around the main roads, there is one big traffic jam from Rancaekek in the regency of Bandung until the border with neighboring regencies Garut and Tasikmalaya.
Wahyu Diana, from the Bandung Communications Service, said that the road in the westward direction was almost empty, but in opposite direction, the road was simply completely full of traffic, which had come to a complete stop earlier today. It is estimated that the number of vehicles on the road has risen by almost 50 percent compared to the days before.
Because traffic has stopped completely, people have left their vehicles to spend the time waiting outside. Even motor cycles can not pass over the road and are forced to wait as well. "It is better to rest at these times, because a traffic jam like this doesn't bring you anywhere," said Faisal, one of the motorcyclists trying to get home. He left soon after the Friday afternoon prayers, only to get caught up in the massive traffic jam pretty soon.
