Buka botol in B.A.T.S. LIPPO CIKARANG - It was a regular Friday night on which my girlfriend and I decided to go clubbing. Not that same night because that would mean we had to hurry to go out, something that is not really beneficial and something I don't want to do at all. So not tonight, but the next night, the malam minggu (the evening before Sunday, so Saturday night) we would go to Jakarta.

It was around four in the afternoon on the Saturday that followed when we took the regular bus service from Lippo Cikarang in the direction of Jakarta. The toll road was crowded, but there was no traffic jam because it was in the middle of the weekend. Most people that want to go out of town already are on their destinations and will only return the next afternoon. Only at the Pondok Gede toll gate there was a queue, but even here it was less than normal.

During the ride to town we started SMS-ing to ask around if some people already had a plan for the night. Of course most already had planned to go out tonight, which made it more easy for us to join some of them. That is exactly what we did. Before we sat down to fill ourselves up with some good food, we hopped by in Grand Indonesia for some last-minute shopping.

Before you know it, the food is all gone and you are left with your friends and some drinks; two Corona's, a red wine and an Aqua (water). Not that the Aqua doesn't want to have alcohol, the stomach is still empty because he was the last one to arrive, after we had finished our meals. Too bad for him, because we were almost headed for B.A.T.S. You can have something to eat there as well, however you should not go there for just eating.

Before midnight, not in a drunk condition by the way, we did buka botol together. Buka botol is nothing more than opening a bottle, but in this manner it does not point to opening a bottle of Coke or source water, but to a bottle of highly levied imported liquor drank in an even more expensive fashion. But hey, it is in the middle of Ramadan, and drinking is still no problem, so we should drink one on that alone already.

The bottle of Jack Daniel's was empty before we left, so we did not have to put it in the 'trophy-cabinet' where many dozens of other already opened but not-yet-empty bottles of liquor are parked with a white label on their necks. On those labels just a name and the quantity left when the person who bought it left. No seals or whatsoever, because people that put their bottle here can be trusted, the same goes for the rest of the guests here. There is, however, a small lock on the glass doors.

The night was, summarized, as usual with a nice group of people, a good drink, free unsalted popcorn, a lot of watching and being watched and music. Unfortunately the band was of poor quality this time. They played too much genres and let the visitors sing along, but the visitors here don't want to sing along. The last band was better, I witnessed their goodbye over a month ago. Hopefully the next band is better, but that is still some two months to go as bands play here three months on a row.
