JAKARTA - A Nomad P-837 plane from the Indonesian Navy has crashed in the area of Tambakan, district Bulungan at some 15 minutes away from the airport of Tarakan in East Kalimantan. The airport authority of the airport of Longbawang, Malinao in East Kalimantan has has released this information. The plane is estimated to have crashed around 13:00 local time (GMT+8).
The plane left from the airport of Longbawang for a flight to Tarakan. Based on information from the airport, five of the nine people on board were killed in the crash, one of them was a crew member and four others were civillians. According to information from the Indonesian Navy, the exact location of the plane is not known yet. The plane was scheduled to arrive at the Juwata airport of Tarakan around 13:30 local time.
