LIPPO CIKARANG - The area of South Bandung, mainly areas like Ciwidey and Pangalengan, emerge as areas which have been worst hit by the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that his western Java earlier this afternoon. Based on information from search and rescue teams, almost all houses in the two areas are heavily damaged. The Hyatt Hotel in the city reports that the swimming pool is leaking.
In the city of Cilacap, on the southern coast and closer to the epicenter of the earthquake than Bandung is, hundreds of houses have been heavily damaged as well. In all of the districts of the city, dozens of houses have been completely destroyed while hundreds of others are heavily damaged an can not be used anymore. The city of Purwakarta, between Jakarta and Bandung, reports that several dozens of houses are damaged.
