JAKARTA - Indonesia has reacted furiously about a traditional Indonesian dance which is used in a new Malaysian tourist campaign "Enigmatic Malaysia". The dance is not related to Malaysia at all, but is being used to promote Malaysia anyway. The Tari Pendet is a traditional Balinese dance, normally performed by for or five young girls.
The Indonesian Minister of Culture and Tourism, Jero Wacik, has said that the government will hand over an official letter of protest against the claim that Tari Pendet belongs to Malaysia. The next step is that the government will await an official response from Malaysia before deciding what they will do next.
The currently created row over the Tari Pendet is the latest in a string of claims by Malaysia where shared Malayan and Indonesian cultural heritage are claimed or used by Malaysia as if they only belong to Malaysia. Indonesia has protested most of the claims, but this latest one stirs relations once again.
But it is a joke, actually a very good joke......and really funny. RI finally gets its payback. This country doesn't have any decency and no respect at all for property rights, so feel it buddy: sit comfortably on the blisters and swallow your payback. Let it taste good.
