JAKARTA - Residents of Kampung Caringin in the village of Sampora, Kuningan, have refused the burial of Ibrohim in their graveyard. Ibrohim was one of the people that helped bomb the J.W. Marriott Hotel and Ritz Carlton Hotel last month. Residents told that they don't want to have a body of a terrorist in their graveyard. The village head of Sampora, Nurohidin, confirmed the deman of his residents.
"The residents decided together that they had to refuse the burial of the body of Ibrohim in their graveyard in Kuningan. Ibrohim was nothing more than a newcomer in their village, however he had an identity card with an address in the village," said Nurohidin. Ibrohim became an official resident of Sampora on September 23, 2008 when he married Sucihani, who also moved to the village. "The residents will hand over a formal letter to the family of Ibrohim."
The local police has also been informed about the decision made on a meeting among residents. Earlier it was assumed that Ibrohim was to be buried near his family, but there is no certainty yet about that.
