JAKARTA - The advocacy team of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Boediono sent a strong warning to the team of Jusuf Kalla-Wiranto and Mega-Prabowo, telling them to prove all of the alleged manipulation and violations during the 2009 Presidential Elections. "We ask that all the complaints are presented with their evidence," said Amir Syamsuddin, an attorney for the team.
Syamsuddin also requested the Judges of the Constitutional Court to order the complainants to display the evidences of the allegations. “If they fail to do so, the related parties will ask the Judges to stop the trial and reject the complainants’ lawsuit,“ he said. The team of Yudhoyono and Boediono said that the accusations are still blurry and lacking of strong arguments.
According to Syamsuddin, even if there was any allegation at the elections, the number would be less than two percent or far less than the one being accused. "The irregularities were merely miscalculations which could be fixed immediately at that time by the officers at the polling stations. Besides, manipulations could disadvantage any candidates,“ Syamsuddin said.
Meanwhile, the attorney for Megawati and Prabowo’s, Arteria Dahlan, said that the warning from the team of SBY and Boediono was completely groundless. Dahlan said the team already had the evidence for their allegations. “It turns out that we’re the one who are most ready. Those who issued the warning are apparently not ready yet,“ he said.
