SEMARANG - Acquisition of land needed for the construction of the Semarang - Solo toll road in the village of Sarono in the Kalirejo subdistrict in Central Java, has lead to protests of local residents. Six of them refuse to agree to a payment scheme. One of the residents, Benny, told that he would not agree with a payment of just 500.000 Rupiah (36 euro) per square meter, because that was too little.
Benny does not agree with the price, since other houses in the area are much smaller and are also paid 500.000 Rupiah per square meter. He now demands 750.000 Rupiah (54 euro) per square meter. Because the six families keep refusing the standard payment, members of the regional Semarang police, Mobile Brigade and the civil police Satpol PP are sent to the location.
This is again the ....... time this happens. It's the problem in whole Indonesia that the residents are only thinking about their own tiny interest (money!) and not about the interest of the whole country as a nation to move forward. With all kind of nonsensical reasons they only try to get the most out of it. Do the same as in Europe: expropriate land in common interest.
