LIPPO CIKARANG - PT Astra Honda Motor, one of the biggest sellers of motorcycles in Indonesia, has anounced that it expects to sell some 500.000 motorcycles in July. Last June they sold 'only' 485.000 motorcycles in the country. The rise in sales figures for the company are mostly related to the fact that the Indonesian central bank has lowered the interest rate to only 6.75 percent. Marketing director Julius Aslan also told that the upcoming Idul Fitri holidays - after the Ramadan month of fasting - will lift sales even further.
Happy driving for all you new motorcycle owners. Do not forget that your vehicle is most likely still not yours in the three years you will probably run down the thing completely. Monthly payments have to be made monthly indeed. If not, your motorcycle will be seized by the bank or your local borrower in cooperation with the police. Be careful on the road, you are one of 499.990 that probably bought your drivers license at a shop - the 'middleman' between you and the authorities - around the corner.
