JAKARTA - A six-year old girl who had tested positive for the H1N1 virus has died in a hospital. The girl, who has other health problems including pneumonia in the last recent years died on July 22. She was brought to the hospital with flu-like symptoms as fever, coughing and difficulty breathing.
The director general of disease control and environmental health of the ministry of health, Tjandra Yoga Aditama, said that the disease did not have a widespread impact in Indonesia and the overall death rate is just around 0.4 percent. The disease should be watched carefully however.
He also confirmed that there were some 343 patients recorded to have H1N1 Mexican Flu in the country. 193 men and 150 women are infected. According to the European Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (ECDC) there are currently almost 1.000 deaths worldwide recorded from H1N1.
