LIPPO CIKARANG - The three most important surveyors in Indonesia all put current president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on the lead in the presidential elections that were held earlier today. Currently an average of 59.5 percent of all votes cast would be for Yudhoyono, state press agency Antara reports. LP3ES, Lingkaran Survei Indonesia and Lembaga Riset Informasi now all give the current president an absolute majority in which no second round is required for him to extend his current presidential term with another five years.
The quick counts however are not official figures released by the General Election Commission KPU. They will start counting votes later today, but a final result is not expected in a few weeks time as tens of millions of paper ballots have to be counted manually.
There he goes, and what a perfect humiliation for Megawati. Now she lost from Yudhoyono two times straight. Maybe she now understands that she should stop trying to become president.
