LIPPO CIKARANG - The Indonesian army is known for it's.. well, known for it's what actually? Every once in a while they are in the news because of a brawl with members of the police force (until a few years back they were still one, but now they have to split their income with them) and furthermore helicopters and planes regularly crash across Indonesia.
But they have something new now; eight members of the Indonesian army were arrested on suspicion of facilitating a gang raiding ATM machines in the Greater Jakarta area. They are also suspected of helping to raid an ATM belonging to BNI, in which 111 million Rupiah - a mere 7655 euro, but it's better than nothing - was stolen. The gang is said to be 16 people in total. The eight are now in military custody, waiting to be interrogated. After their release they will probably claim 6.9 million Rupiah (478 euro) each, their share of the heist.
Polres Depok bersama Polda Metro Jaya berhasil meringkus tiga orang kawanan pembobol Anjungan Tunai Mandiri (ATM) yang sudah beroperasi di kawasan Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, dan Bekasi. Selain itu, delapan oknum TNI pun ikut diperiksa karena diduga terlibat. Kepala Satuan Reserse Kriminal Polres Depok Kompol Surya Malindra, membenarkan penangkapan tersebut. "Mereka sedang kami proses dan oknum TNI belum kami serahkan ke Kostrad," ujarnya."
