DENPASAR - Checks on foreign tourists arriving at Ngurah Rai international airport at the resort island of Bali has been tightened. Every arriving passenger is asked to report about their own health by filling in a form from the Department of Health. Passengers are positive about the checks, but think that the yellow cards from the department should be more simple.
The yellow cards are distributed in the arrivals terminal and have to be filled in before being handed over at one of the body temperature checkpoints near the exits of the building. If there is a detection of higher temperature, the airport is ready to give proper aid to the passenger in a isolation room which has been prepared in the Sanglah general hospital in Denpasar half an hour away from the airport.
The airport also provides disinfecting spray which is sprayed on arriving passengers. All people arriving here have to undergo that treatment. Both people from countries where cases of swine flu have been confirmed and countries which are still officially free of swine flu have to undergo the same treatment. All airport staff currently has to wear masks because they are the first to get in contact with the arriving people here.
