A peek into Jakarta's nightlife, Stadium JAKARTA - However the name might look like you are attending a game of soccer when you enter this piece of 'paradise on earth', it is not anything like it. It could at best be a nice confusion of words if you are smart enough, so you will not be caught for lying when you are telling in all honesty that you went to the stadium, but keep it in English then. The building that calls itself 'Stadium' is not just a club, it is a center of pleasure and entertainment, 24 hours a day, almost all days of the year.

That pleasure and entertainment consists of a number of things varying from a night club, karaoke, lounge areas and a complete spa. Spread out over several floors - which you can reach by elevator, no need to get tired walking stairs if you want to go to the night club - in a seemingly unclear fashion a part of the club is located on the same floor as the spa for example.

That is exactly why you should take some time to see how things work here before you make the conclusion that it isn't all that strange after all. The word ease is clearly something that is taken into mind in this building, that is said to be run by people from the military. This is also a direct indication of why this all can just exist here in a small alley off the main road in Old Jakarta. True or not, maybe it's just good that it exists, it at least keeps all the 'problems' under one roof for that matter.

It is a place where you will find the most strange people; drug dealers from far and remote African countries bring their goods on the market directly here. Local preman are doing 'business' in drugs and women while other women find their way themselves here to do their own business. Hundreds of traders in all kinds of goods like 'medication', condoms, vibrators, mobile telephone credit and more of those handy products which make a long stay in Stadium possible.

All together it might seem pretty dangerous out here, and in fact it is. Don't leave yor drink unattended here and keep watch on your money. Because of the huge diversity of people that visits this place for all kinds of reasons, actual security is fairly limited. Social behavior is the only thing that is left, but to be dependent on the people that walk around here will possibly not give you a peaceful mind as well. There are few foreigners here, unless you are really looking for the last edition of synthetic drugs.

Outside those drugs there is much more entertainment to find here, because earlier on I already mentioned the night club, karaoke and spa. That in fact has become into one large brothel which regularly causes men to be besieged by young girls in the night club, with their bosses waiting directly behind them making sure you take their girl for a short time. And yes, it's just about the quick fuck, there is nothing secret about that here. It will not always be a pleasure to drink a beer here unless you can react with force to things that happen around you. Otherwise you might end up in a room a few steps away from the club floor.

Those karaoke rooms are indeed often used to play karaoke, but the most important of it all are the women that are available here, inclusive of large quantities of alcoholic drinks. Liquor in almost all cases. In your room you can buka botol (open a bottle of liquor) in the company of one or preferably more young girls - for as far your wallet lets you, no lack of women here for sure. What you do with the liquor or the girls is up to you, but again also completely dependent on the contents of your wallet. Payment by credit card is something you should think about before you leave home already.

The spa is not much different. The girls you pick up in the club will send you to the spa for a short time fuck. Payment has to be made at the counter on beforehand and the tip you can give directly to the girl when you are finished. If you are just on your room someone will knock to ask if you need a condom, so if you accidentally entered Stadium for just drinking a beer, that will be your last chance to prevent you from getting some S.T.D. It should not be the price of that if you have already come this far.
