JAKARTA - Two people have died from bird flu near the Indonesian capital of Jakarta. According to the country's health ministry, the victims were a 29-year-old woman who died in December and a 5-year-old girl who died earlier this month.
More people have lost their lives to bird flu in Indonesia than in any other country in the world and health authorities there have stopped updating figures on bird flu deaths immediately as they occur. According to figures from the World Health Organisation 115 people have died from the disease in Indonesia since 2003.
