FPI holds warfare training and recruitment session for Gaza BANDUNG - At a prayer gathering, some 500 members of the radical Islamic Islamic Defenders Front FPI (Front Pembela Islam), held a warfare training session at the Mekarhayu Mosque in the village of Cilame in West Bandung. The activities that were organized there are related to volunteers of FPI who want to help ease the suffering of the people in the Gaza Strip, caused by the Israeli actions there.

Some 200 volunteers were recruited to be sent to Palestina as soon as possible. The evening was officially opened by the secretary-general of the FPI, Sobri Lubis, which also gave training strategies about how to fight Israeli 'aggression'. At the end of the day, some 6.000 volunteers from all over Indonesia are said to be ready for departure. "The government should not have to do any effort to prevent them from leaving the country because all of us are free to go," said Sobri at the event yesterday evening.

Sobri told that he hoped that the Indonesian armed forces (TNI) would be able to train the volunteers of FPI about how to handle weapons in in case they had to face Israeli forces. If that is not possible, the volunteers will get their full training in the war zone.

Front Pembela Islam...they should be doing something that is more worthy, such as provide welfare and helping the poor. This organisation and its members give Muslims and Islam a bad name and should be disband but so far the Central Government has not done a single thing. Is the Front Pembela Islam a registered organisation or just a name given by its "followers?"

I disagree. The more go to Gaza the better. They serve a good cause over there. Emoticon: Smile

The WAR IN GAZA is not about religion...Its only about Territorial Occupation.
So you people of this organization if you want to help, help those surrounding you for a better living, good education for your kids, a decent place to live, & if you have extra then donate to the Gaza Relief Organization. Emoticon: I love it
