BANDUNG - Some 50 students united in the Pancasila Student Front West Java (Front Mahasiswa Pancasila Jawa Barat) organized a demonstration in front of the German cultural Goethe Institute in Jalan. R.E. Martadinata in Bandung earlier today. They were forced to hold their demonstration there, because Bandung does not have a representative office or embassy which could be the gathering place for their protests against Israel.
De students held a long march from the Padjajaran University in Jalan Dipatiukur. In their demonstration, they ordered Indonesia to step out of the United Nations, because they are not able to protect the people of Palestina. Arriving at the institute, they only met with one local teacher which received a bundle of letters urging the German embassy not to support the Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip.
After their demonstration, they continued their walk to the local Bandung Indah Plaza (BIP) mall where they were planning on organizing a sweeping against Americans. They also wanted to close down a fast food restaurant franchise which uses a brand from the United States. Police was at the scene with two full trucks to prevent that from happening.
