JAKARTA - Russia's Sukhoi aircraft company has delivered two Su-30MK2 multipurpose fighters to Indonesia, local media reported Friday. "The first two of six aircraft purchased by Indonesia have been shipped to the customer," Interfax news agency quoted the company's press service as saying.
The third Su-30MK2 fighter is scheduled to be delivered at the start of 2009, while three Su-27SKM planes are due for shipping by 2010, the reports said. Under a contract signed in 2007, Russia will supply three Su-30MK2 and three Su-27SKM fighters to Jakarta in addition to two Su-27SK and two Su-30MK that are already in service with the Indonesian air force.
