JAKARTA - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and entourage are scheduled make a state visit to Japan from November 26 to 29, 2006. The Culture and Information Office of the Japanese Embassy here told the press recently that while in Japan the President and his wife Mrs Ani Yudhoyono will pay a courtesy call on the Japanese Emperor and his consort.
The Japanese imperial couple will host a state banquet in honor of the Indonesian President and entourage on the night of November 27. Besides meeting the Emperor, President Yudhoyono will hold talks with the new Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, on Tuesday, November 28.
According to the press release of the Japanese embassy, the Japanese government sincerely welcomed the forthcoming visit of the President and his wife to Japan. The Japanese government hopes that the visit would strengthen the relations between Indonesia and Japan, the press release said.
