YOGYAKARTA - An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 on the Richter Scale struck Sulawesi's Gorontalo province earlier today at 10.43 local time. (02.43 GMT). According to the Meteorological and Geophycical Institute (BMG) in Gorontalo the earthquake took place at 0.35 S 125.06 E, with a depth of 52 kilometers below the South Maluku Sea. The earthquake lasted for about ten seconds and wasn't able to produce a tsunami.
