JAKARTA - President said on Monday that seven people had died in the country from bird flu, announcing a higher death toll than the World Health Organization, which puts the number of confirmed fatalities at five.
"I have paid special attention to the greater Jakarta area. From what I have gathered there are 11 (positive) sufferers and out of those seven have died," Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono told a news conference after a cabinet meeting to discuss the deadly virus.
