JAKARTA - South Jakarta Police shot a suspected drug dealer dead on Thursday, close to Lenteng Agung railway station in South Jakarta. A police detective of South Jakarta Police Precinct said that Tarmizi, 27, had been arrested on Monday. "We wanted to use him as bait to catch another big drug dealer. But, it seemed that the drug dealer was aware of the trap and managed to flee the scene right after the transaction," he said.
As police detectives were far from him, Tarmizi also attempted to flee. The police fired warning shots but he ignored them and was shot twice in his back. He died instantly at the scene. From the transaction, the police seized five kilograms of marijuana.
